Story
Brooklyn based guitarist Misha Josephs has honed in his style by maintaining an in-demand presence with a wide variety of musical artists. His performing and recording credits include Jazz artists Gregory Porter, Sean Jones, Lee Hogans; Gospel artists Bebe Winans, Kim Burrell, Tye Tribbett; Hip Hop artists Raekwon, Ghostface Killa, Masta Ace, Pharaoh Monch; and even Bollywood artists Javed Ali and Aishwarya Majmudar. Artists that Misha has been co-billed with include Steely Dan, The Beach Boys, Livingston Taylor, and Jose Feliciano.
Misha’s cross-genre ease keeps him searching for his artistic voice and continuously expanding it, but his musical pulse reflects the visceral influence of the Blues music that he heard at a young age. These are the sounds he absorbed upon coming to NYC from the former USSR, stamping him permanently with the diaspora of American music traditions. After high school, he went on to study Jazz Guitar with Vic Juris at Mason Gross School Of The Arts and continues to approach any musical environment with an extemporaneous sense. Misha can be seen performing regularly at venues internationally and here in NYC, such as The Blue Note, Smoke Jazz Club, Rockwood Music Hall, The Zinc Bar, The Bitter End, and Bowery Presents TV music appearances include BricTV, NBC, TV2 in Norway, Showtime, CMT, FOX, Bravo |
